Communication

Talking to other players

text
say Hello there.

say is heard by everyone else in your current room.

text
yell Come here!

yell carries further — everyone in your current zone hears it, not just your room.

text
emote smiles warmly.

emote displays an action line starting with your character's name, rather than a spoken line — the example above shows as something like Aria smiles warmly. to everyone in the room. Use it for body language, reactions, and small scene-setting the way you would in any text-based roleplay.

Talking to NPCs

text
talk guard

talk <mob> is how you start a conversation with an NPC in your room. This is also how quests get offered — if an NPC has something to say, talking to them is how you'll hear it, and if they're the one you need to report back to, talk is often how you finish up with them too.

Muting other players

text
mute alex
unmute alex

mute <player> silences another player's chat and socials for you — they won't know they've been muted. unmute <player> reverses it. Staff members can't be muted this way.

A note on names and targets

Most commands that take a target — talk, look, give, and others — accept a partial name or keyword, not just an exact full name. If a room has more than one match for what you typed, the game will ask you to be more specific, usually by putting a number in front (like 2.guard for the second guard in the room).
